Kresovus’ Shadow

13 day timer
Rewards: XP, Guardian of Linvak Tukal title, Balor’s Robe, Chorizite Pea, and a chance to upgrade a piece of old lugian items from the Arm, Mind, Heart quest.
Weapons: Fire, Shadow-slayer, Virindi-slayer, and bludgeoning/slashing
Difficulty: Medium
Quest Type: Puzzle
Restriction: Bur Recall quest must be accomplished beforehand within the previous 13 days.

Speak to Oswent the Pale at (25.7n 49.2e) in Cragstone to learn that there is more you can do to take out the imposter of Lord Kresovus; take him out. You will be given a Royal Summons and sent to Linvak Tukal.

Head to Linvak Tukal and head up the ramps to Kresovus. Give him the Royal Summons and suddenly this trap of ours seems to be turned. No matter, use the chest behind him, much like you did before to flag for this mission.

The drop is safe to buff in and everything seems fine until you venture down ramp and in comes the imposter! This part will seem nostalgic for the those who flagged for this. You will need to mow down the spawn and then bust down the door with wall spells or flat out bashing. When this is done head into the room and go into the portal.

This drop will be hot. Clear the spawns and in the middle of the room will be a Pristine White Mattekar Hide sitting atop an altar. Make sure everyone has one and then use the altar itself to open the doors and head into the next dungeon.

From the drop head to a large boulder. This trial will test your strength. In order to move the boulder you must either pass the skill check test involving strength or bust it apart. Most melees should be able to simply move it by double clicking it, for the rest of us; smash it.

Below the rock you will find the corpse of Oswent’s Associate, Phlynt. Loot the Hidden Note and the Phial of Chorizite. The note provides the lore while the phial will have a use later on. Head down and you will find the first incarnation of Shadow Kresovus accompanied with Abyssal Shadow Lugians.

Note: Each person will need to kill this boss and is easiest done by having each person solo him one at a time. He respawns every 5 minutes. After that is done head into the next dungeon.

This will be yet another puzzle for you to figure out. Once you begin, you have 5 minutes to complete it. If you fail to complete it in that time or make more than 3 mistakes during this trial you will be sent to the beginning of the previous trial (you will not have to kill Shadow Kresovus in the prior trial however).

This puzzle seems daunting but is accomplished easily by doing the following steps in order:

1 - Talk to the Pillar of the Mind (this will spawn everything)

2 - Pick up all the Red, Yellow, and White stones that will spawn on your left.

3 - Move to the bags in the front of the room, there are three of them.

4 - Give the bag on the left (west) side white stones until the bag tells you it has 3 white stones, 0 red stones, and 0 yellow stones.

5 - Give the bag in the middle yellow stones until the bag tells you it has 3 yellow stones, 0 red stones, and 0 white stones.

6 - Give the bag on the right (east) side red stones until the bag tells you it has 3 red stones, 0 yellow stones, and 0 white stones

7 - You will now have a number of stones left in your inventory that you will have to distribute on the scales on the eastern side of the room; head over to them.

8 - For the basket on the left (north) side give the following: 1 red stone, 2 yellow stones, and 3 white stones.

9 - For the basket on the right (south) side give the following: 2 red stones and 2 yellow stones.

10 - Speak to the Pillar of the Mind to finish the test

You may continue to the Trial of the Heart.

You will now be able to move into the next room where the next portal awaits you. You must use it like a summoned portal but the result won’t be normal. Immediately, Shadow Kresovus and numerous Virindi will be summoned.

Note: Each person will need to kill this boss and is easiest done by having each person solo him one at a time. He respawns every 5 minutes. After that is done head into the next dungeon.

The drop here is safe and will begin the final trial. Speak to the Pillar of the Heart to begin. You will find a hall way with 7 alcoves, each containing relics and treasure highly valued to the Lugians. However, one is prized above all and yet it is not an item. In the second alcove on the left is a Painting of the Building of Linvak Tukal hanging on the left wall. Double click on it. Now head back to the pillar and use it to pass the trial.

If you make more than 3 mistakes during this trial you will be sent to the beginning of the previous trial (you will not have to kill Shadow Kresovus in the prior trial however).

Head through the door and prepare for another encounter with Shadow Kresovus, who is looking more and more shadowy by the minute. Beside him you will find the true Lord Kresovus bound in a magical cage!

Note: Each person will need to kill this boss and is easiest done by having each person solo him one at a time. He respawns every 5 minutes. After that each player must speak to Lord Kresovus and then give the Phial of Chorizite from earlier (or pick up some now where Shadow Kresovus fell) to the cage to dispel it and free Lord Kresovus!
After everyone has freed Kresovus and pushed back the imposter make sure you all are freshly rebuffed and then enter the final portal. This drop is hot and you’ll need to be careful.

Note: Everyone will need to kill him to loot the sigil. When done take either portal back to Linvak Tukal and speak with the true Lord Kresovus. Lord Kresovus will have a lot to say to you so get ready for all your hard-earned rewards.

Remember that mattekar fur from before? Give it to Lord Kresovus and he will lament the death of his friend, Balor, but allows you to keep the hide. Bring this cherished item to Yi Yo-Jin in Neydisa Castle to get your robe

The robe looks like a dyed white faran robe with green trim, banes to al 530, has minor frost ward and gelidite’s blessing and you need to be level 120 to wield. Seek out Auritis in Linvak Tukal (right form the drop, up ramp) and give him any of the items gleaned from the Arm, Heart, and Mind quest to received upgraded items. Here is a list of the items you can upgrade:

Bastion of Tukal
Crest of Kings
Helm of Crag
Staff of Clarity
Sceptre of Tremendous Might
Spear of Purity
Sleeves of Inexhaustibility

Note: All items are level 120+ to wield and you can only upgrade one item per quest run.

Wearing multiple items of the “Guardian Gear” results in the following, hidden, cantrips:

Any 2 items:
Epic Coordination
Major Bow
Moderate Endruance

Any 3 items:
Epic Coordination
Epic Focus
Major War Magic
Moderate Endurance
Moderate Self

Any 4 items:
Epic Coordination
Epic Focus
Epic Strength
Major Spear
Major Mace
Moderate Endurance
Moderate Self

Balor’s Robe appears to not have any relations to the Guardian Gear cantrips.

When you do it again you will only have to face the end boss and return the sigil back to Lord Kresovus.

You give Lord Kresovus Sigil of Linvak Tukal.
Lord Kresovus shakes his head in wonder, "He keeps returning. When will that imposter learn that Guardian's like yourself will never allow him back?"
Lord Kresovus gives you Powdered Chorizite Pea.

Lord Kresovus tells you, "Take this Chorizite Pea. I have also given permission to Auritis to upgrade any of the armor or weapons of the Arm, Mind and Heart that you may have. Speak with him to find out more."

Lord Kresovus tells you, "Thank you for freeing me human. My people and I owe you more than can ever be repaid."
Lord Kresovus tells you, "The Guardians report they have been unsucessful in removing the darkness from the last of the chambers below. I suspect we have not seen the last of this Shadow Kresovus."

Return in 13 to fight Shadow Kresovus again to earn another Pea and another piece to upgrade, good luck!
